Preparing for your CBR theory exam is already a nerve-wracking experience, and since April 7, 2025, the format has officially changed.
The renewed exam looks different, with new rules, new question types, and a different structure than before. But don’t worry, at Nutheorie, we guide you step by step with practice exams, video simulations, and clear explanations so you know exactly what to expect.
In this blog, we’ll walk you through the changes in the new CBR theory exam, compare it with the old exam, and explain how you can best prepare to pass with confidence.
What Has Changed in the CBR Theory Exam 2025?
Since April 7, 2025, the car theory exam has been updated.
The main change: you now take one exam of 50 questions, instead of three separate parts.
These questions include:
- Traffic rules
- Situational judgment
- Hazard perception
This new combined format provides a clearer overall picture of your traffic knowledge and safety awareness.
Another major update is the use of video-based hazard perception. Instead of static photos, you now see short, silent video clips of real-life traffic situations. These could show, for example:
- A pedestrian suddenly crossing
- A car braking sharply
- A bicycle appearing unexpectedly
You must choose the safest response. Many students find this easier because it feels more realistic than static images.
Exam Duration and Passing Score
- Time limit: 30 minutes (or 45 minutes with extra time)
- Passing score for car: At least 44 correct out of 50
- Motorcycle: Maximum 9 mistakes allowed
- Moped: Maximum 7 mistakes allowed
At Nutheorie, we’ve fully adapted our teaching materials to the new exam format:
- Updated practice questions that reflect the new style
- Video practice modules for hazard perception
- Step-by-step explanations in simple language
- Courses and day trainings that always match the latest CBR standards
This ensures that when you sit for your CBR theory exam in 2025, nothing will surprise you.
The renewed CBR theory exam 2025 might feel new and overwhelming, but with the right preparation, you can enter the test room with confidence. By practicing with Nutheorie’s updated materials, you’ll learn not only the rules but also how to apply them in realistic traffic scenarios, exactly as the CBR expects.
