Preparing for Your Exam in Hengelo

Theory Exam:

• Requirements: Bring a valid ID and a suitable tuition car. In almost all cases, your driving school will arrange the vehicle. Legally, you may bring a different car if it meets all the requirements; these vehicle requirements can be found on the CBR website.

Tips for Exam Day at CBR Hengelo

• Arrive at least 15 minutes early.
• Bring a valid ID (no copies allowed).
• Ensure you have your reservation number (found in your CBR confirmation email).
• Theory Exam: No phones, bags, or notes allowed (free lockers are available).
• Practical Exam: Your car must meet CBR requirements (including dual controls and a clean interior).

Inside the CBR Hengelo Exam Center

1. Check-in: Upon arrival, check in at the white registration kiosk using your reservation number. To reach the exam area, take the stairs to the first floor and walk to the end of the hallway.
2. Waiting Area: Wait in the designated area and keep an eye on the digital screens. These will display your reservation number and your current status:
   • “Aangemeld” (Checked-in): Your registration was successful; you are now waiting to be called.
   • “Spullen in de locker” (Put items in locker): This means it is almost your turn. At this point, place all your belongings (except your ID) in a locker. Remember your locker number and the code you use to lock it.
   • “Ga naar start examen” (Proceed to start exam): It is your turn. You may head to the white desk where the CBR staff are seated.
3. Security & ID Check: First, report to security, where they will use a hand scanner to ensure you aren't carrying any electronic devices. Next, go to the CBR staff member at the “Start examen” desk to have your ID verified. You will be assigned a table number here. Earplugs are available if you are easily distracted by noise.
4. Taking the Exam: Enter the exam room and sit at the screen corresponding to your table number. Place your ID on the table and enter your reservation number on the screen. Verify that your email address is correct, and when you are ready, select “Start.” Follow the on-screen instructions.
5. Results: Once you have finished all the questions, submit your exam. Your result will appear immediately on the screen. A "thumbs up" icon will indicate whether you passed or failed, and you will see the number of errors made.
6. Departure: Leave the exam room, retrieve your belongings from the locker, and wait for the official email from the CBR. This email will contain your results. Once you receive it, you are free to go home.
